My name is Sheila (Geldart)
Hannah. As a young child I would sit for hours, looking at old photos and listening to stories of my ancestors. And here
I am, many years later, desiring to learn and hear about your ancestors. On my other website, the words of the
unknown author encourage us to research --- "put flesh back on the bones" --- and bring alive the stories of our families
long since gone.
I was born and raised in
Oshawa, Ontario. My parents and their ancestors were born and raised in Albert County since the early 1800s. I have been researching periodically for many years. Every moment has been a joy. I
am offering you the opportunity to place some of your memories here, so that they'll not get lost.
I initiated my site "Our
Ancestors of Albert County" because, like many others, I didn't want to see the Albert County GenWeb die. It has lain
dormant for too many years (like our ancestors) so my website is now a dream come true. I had to introduce this new site "Our
Ancestors of Albert County Photo Albums and Stories" as I need the space for the genealogy research on "Our Ancestors of Albert
County."
As I stated on my other website, a dear friend told me once that I could do anything if I put my
mind to it -- and now I know he is right. He helped me tremendously in my own personal research. Now I need your
help to make these sites grow --- thrive -- and become a viable Albert County
community resource. I look forward to meeting many of you in the days ahead.
