1926 RIVERSIDE BOY
IS AWARDED BEAVERBROOK SCHOLARSHIP
HOPEWELL Hill, Sept. 6 – Adelbert S. Geldart, of Riverside, is receiving the congratulations of friends on his
being awarded one of the Lord Beaverbrook scholarship, which is worth $325 a year towards the expenses of a college course.
The young man who is eighteen years of age, is a son of Frank L Geldart, and is a graduate of Riverside
High School. He will attend the U.N.B., taking the electrical engineering course.
1930 RIVERSIDE BOY GETS APPOINTMENT
Friends of Mr. Bert Geldart, of Riverside, Albert
County, will be pleased to learn that he has secured a position with General Electric
Co. of Peterboro, Ont. Mr. Geldart is at present completing his fourth year in the Electric Engineering Course at the University
of New Brunswick and expects to begin his work with the General Electric Co. at the close of his college course in May next.
Mr Geldart is a graduate of the Riverside Consolidated School
where he showed himself an earnest and painstaking student, leading his class on graduation and securing the Governor General’s
medal. After graduating from High School, he entered the University of New
Brunswick to pursue the study of electrical engineering, having been awarded one of the Beaverbrook
scholarships to enable him to continue his studies. During his college course he has stood well up among the leaders on examination,
ranking usually in First Division. His many friends in his home town and elsewhere wish him every success when he enters upon
his work with the General Electric Co. in May next.

ADELBERT GELDART
ALBERT, N. B. May 17 – This village and surrounding districts were shocked when a telegram from Toronto
conveyed the news of the death of Adelbert Geldart in hospital in that city following a three months illness. The young man
29 years of age was the son of Frank Geldart, of this village, and the late Mrs. Geldart. While employed with the Canadian
General Electric Co., of Toronto, about three months ago, he received burns, which
eventually caused his death.
A brilliant scholar, he received his early education at the Riverside Consolidated
school from which he graduated in 1926, later taking a course in electrical engineering at the
University of New Brunswick. He graduated
in 1930.
Besides his father, he is survived by one brother, Melvin, Riverside, Albert
County: his stepmother, two half-brothers, Charles and Karl, and one half-sister,
Muricl, of Albert. The body will be brought here for burial.

Electric, Toronto, and the test department, Canadian General. Peterboro, Ont., and a basket of cut flowers from the Foreman’s
Club, Canadian General Electric, Toronto.
